[Video] Watch Wilshere get sent off for bust-up during Arsenal U23’s win v Man City
Jack Wilshere was sent off following an angry tussle during Arsenal under-23’s 4-3 victory over Manchester City under-23’s this evening.
Wilshere started for the youth side at the Emirates as he continues to work his way back to full fitness having recently recovered from a fractured leg that he suffered during his loan at Bournemouth last season.
The midfielder was looking in good form as Arsenal raced in to a 4-1 lead thanks largely to another brace for the ever-impressive Reiss Nelson while Edward Nketiah also helped himself to two goals.
However, Wilshere’s night took a turn for the worse when he reacted angrily to a late challenge from City midfielder Matthew Smith and the Gunners star shoved him to the floor.
Jack then had a row with Tyreke Wilson which led to both players being dismissed and the altercation continued in to the tunnel area. City reduced the deficit to 4-3 but Arsenal managed to hang on for the win.
It was a disappointing end to what was a promising evening for Wilshere and I’m sure his antics won’t have gone down too well with Arsene Wenger.
