Arsenal in battle to sign £27m South American attacker
According to talkSPORT, Arsenal will have to battle-it-out with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma for the signing of Juventus’s £27m-rated attacker Juan Cuadrado this summer.
Arsene Wenger has confirmed he’s actively looking to strengthen his squad after only bringing in two new signings this summer – namely Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.
A new attacker seems to be in order as several of our current crop are being linked with a move away from the Emirates and it seems Wenger is eyeing a surprise swoop for Cuadrado.
The Colombian international has been made available for transfer this summer and talkSPORT claim Juve have set the asking price at just under £27m with Lazio’s Keita Balde Diao already lined-up as his replacement.
The news outlet cites a report from Italian outlet La Stampa that says Arsenal have registered their interest in signing the 29-year-old but will face competition from AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma.
Cuadrado flopped at Chelsea after lasting just six months at Stamford Bridge but he’s been a reasonable success since moving to Italy in 2015 after helping Juventus win the title and reach the final of the Champions League last season.
The South American is a versatile attacker who mainly plays on the wing and he has plenty of experience to offer if Wenger did end up winning the race for his signature.

However, I think Cuadrado is regarded as nothing more than a back-up to our primary targets which appear to be Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
I’d much prefer we sign either of those two ahead of Cuadrado so hopefully Arsenal are focussing their efforts on negotiating deals for them and not wasting too much time on the Juve man.
