Arsenal agree personal terms with £80m-rated attacker
The Sun are carrying an exclusive today claiming that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Thomas Lemar and we now just need to settle on a fee with Monaco in order to sign the attacker.
Arsene Wenger has already snapped-up striker Alexandre Lacazette and left-back Sead Kolasinac but it looks like the boss wants to further strengthen his squad with another attacker.
Lemar has emerged as a prime target in recent weeks as Wenger is understood to be a long-term admirer after monitoring the player since his days with Caen.
It seems the boss is pushing hard to sign the French international as The Sun claim that the 21-year-old has agreed personal terms with Arsenal over a long-term contract worth £90,000-a-week.
The newspaper says the agreement came following talks with the players representatives and Lemar has now informed Monaco that he wants to leave and move to the Emirates this summer.
However, we still have a long way to go before securing his signature as The Sun claim Monaco are demanding a whopping £80m for Lemar after already rejecting two bids from Arsenal worth £30m and £40m.
Monaco want to keep hold of the young attacker for at least another year as they’re confident his value is going to continue to sore and he still has three years left on his contract so they are under no pressure to sell.
Lemar has just come off the back of an excellent campaign that saw him score 14 goals and provide a further 17 assists to help Monaco land the Ligue 1 title so he’d obviously be an exciting addition to the squad.
However, as good a signing as Lemar would be, he’s largely been played on the left side of attack so it’s highly likely that Wenger has him lined-up as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Our Chilean superstar is being tipped to rebuff any attempts to tie him to a new contract so we’ll probably have to cash-in and it looks like Lemar is the man Wenger wants to fill his boots.
Although any deal to land the Frenchman won’t be easy, even if he has agreed personal terms, due to Monaco’s sky-high valuation.
