[Video] Arsenal star offers injury update on Twitter
Arsenal star Shkodran Mustafi has posted an update of his recovery on Twitter as he looks to get back to fitness as quickly as possible.
Mustafi has been on the sidelines since suffering a hamstring injury during the first half of our victory over Stoke City on December 10th.
The German international was immediately ruled out for at least three weeks and wasn’t expected to be available again until the start of the New Year.
However, it looks as though the defender is putting in some extra work at the gym as he bids to get himself back in contention for a return to action ASAP.
Mustafi has uploaded a video to Twitter of him working out in the gym doing kettle-bell lunges with a message saying:
Nothing worth having comes easy. So let’s put in some extra hours at the gym #comebackstronger #sm20 @Arsenal
The centre-back has been excellent since joining the club from Valencia in the summer and we’ve certainly missed him over the past two games during painful losses at Everton and Man City.
I don’t think it’s any coincidence that Mustafi hasn’t been playing during the three Premier League defeats we’ve suffered so far this season as he’s formed a superb partnership alongside Koscielny.
The German star is still expected to miss upcoming games against West Brom and probably Crystal Palace but let’s hope he manages to return for the trip to Bournemouth on January 3rd.
Here’s what he posted to Twitter:
