Wenger reveals some concerning injury news on Arsenal star
Arsene Wenger has revealed some concerning news regarding the fitness of Santi Cazorla as the Arsenal midfielder continues to struggle with an Achilles injury.
Cazorla hasn’t featured since aggravating a long-standing Achilles problem during our 6-0 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League over a month ago.
The injury was initially only thought to be a minor one with Santi’s withdrawal from the game only precautionary, however, it’s turned out to be far more serious than anyone anticipated.
The 31-year-old has already missed our last five matches in all competitions and Wenger’s latest update on the situation suggests that he’ll be forced to miss a few more before he’ll be available again.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning, Wenger told reporters that Cazorla is still not even back in training and he has no idea when the midfielder will be back in action.
And some more team news…

It’s certainly a worrying situation and given Cazorla was hampered by his Achilles throughout last season, the club are likely to be cautious with him so we may not see him back in the first team for a while yet.
Santi was quoted as saying in the media last night that he doesn’t know when he’ll be back, he’s not even training and Arsene is refusing to put any time-scale on his return so it’s likely that the club will just have to keep a close eye on how the injury is healing on a day-by-day basis and take it from there.
