Arsenal star to demand move if Wenger stays, agent ready to contact Man City

There are some potentially worrying reports circulating today suggesting that Alexis Sanchez could be set to leave Arsenal this summer.

Spanish media outlet Don Balon claim that Sanchez has grown increasingly frustrated with life in North London under the stewardship of Arsene Wenger and will demand a move if the Frenchman remains as manager next season.

The report states that the final straw came when Wenger hauled Alexis off against Norwich City on Saturday, which saw the disgruntled attacker head straight down the tunnel without saying a word to the bench.

Don Balon claim that Alexis’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, is ready to contact Pep Guardiola about a possible reunion at Manchester City, while Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Valencia will also be sounded out about a return to Spain.

Soooo, what do we make of these reports?

Well, Alexis certainly hasn’t looked himself in recent weeks and admittedly it was a little concerning to see him walk straight down the tunnel on Saturday without any sign of injury.

Sanchez didn’t have a particularly good game so many assumed he was just disappointed with his own performance as he’s known to be extremely hard on himself. However, it seems some media outlets beleive there is more to it.

Personally, I’d be surprised if talk of a rift with Wenger is true. Alexis has said in the past that Wenger was a key reason he joined Arsenal and the pair have enjoyed a positive relationship during his two years at the club.

No doubt Alexis is frustrated after a disappointing season for both himself and the club, but surely we’d be more concerned if he wasn’t bothered? Players should be upset when we don’t win things, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they want to leave.

Unfortunately the speculation is inevitable and it’s only going to get worse over the coming months but in the end I don’t think we’ll see Alexis, or any other key player, leave Arsenal this summer.
