Wenger’s injury update on Wilshere, Cazorla, Ramsey, The Ox & more
It’s been another hectic day of injury news at Arsenal HQ so I’ll bring you all the latest updates from Arsene Wenger ahead of our crucial clash at West Ham this weekend….
The boss held his pre-match press conference on Thursday morning and gave Arsenal.com a full team news and injury update where he confirmed that Ramsey could be back in the squad for the trip to Upton Park.
The Welshman has been on the sidelines since suffering a thigh injury a month ago but he had a ‘good training session’ on Wednesday and is expected to undergo a late fitness test tomorrow to decide whether he’s fit to face the Hammers.
Ramsey could be joined back in the squad by Flamini with the Frenchman also on the verge of making his comeback from a hamstring injury that he picked up against Barcelona last month.
The boss also revealed that Wilshere and Rosicky are set to turn out for the under-21 side on Friday night as they look to build their match fitness following injury plagued campaigns.
Jack is yet to play this season after struggling to overcome a fractured fibula that he sustained in pre-season while Rosicky has played just 15 minutes of first team football due to knee and thigh problems.
But the midfielders are now back in training and looking to get some minutes under their belts for the under-21 side meaning that Oxlade-Chamberlain and Cazorla are our only two serious injury concerns.
The Ox is back in light training as he looks to overcome a knee injury while Santi has been out since undergoing surgery on a knee ligament injury back in November, but Arsene says the duo aren’t too far away from returning to action.
The boss told the clubs website:
on the latest team news…
We have a similar squad available. Ramsey could join the squad again because he had a good training session on Wednesday and would normally have a final test on Friday. There’s a possibility he could be back in the squad.on Flamini…
Flamini is in a similar situation to Ramsey.on overall injury situation…
Santi and Alex [Oxlade-Chamberlain] are the only injuries now. At the moment we [are waiting] on Alex coming back to fitness and Santi to practice. They should not be too far. Overall, the injury situation looks quite good.on Rosicky and Wilshere…
Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere will play for the under-21s on Friday night.
It’s great to see Ramsey back and let’s hope Wilshere comes through the under-21 game tomorrow unscathed as I’d love to see him make a few appearances for the first team before the end of the season.

Arsenal need just to focus on each and every match as they come rather than hearing too much from other clubs. Those are mind games and just gfight on the pitch and collect 3 points
.Anything can happen but do quality work on the pitch and fight till end of season.Otherwise you can and never trust any team to do work for you but you alone. All the best Gunners
