Paul Merson offers his predicted score ahead of Arsenal v Watford

Arsenal legend Paul Merson has offered his prediction ahead of our Premier League clash with Watford on Saturday and he’s backing us to secure a comfortable win.

We entertain the Hornets at the Emirates this weekend and will be looking to build on our impressive victory at Everton before the international break which saw us leave Goodison Park with all three points thanks to goals from Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi.

Boss Arsene Wenger will also be demanding revenge after we crashed out of the FA Cup following a shock 2-1 loss to Watford almost three weeks ago.

Obviously we’re heavy favourites to collect all three points on Saturday and former winger Merson believes that we should ease past a Watford side that have little left to play for in the league.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports News, Merson said:

There’s no pressure on Arsenal so they will win this game. They are the best team in the country when there is no pressure on them.

They lost the big one in the quarter-final of the cup but Watford don’t have much to play for and I can’t see them winning at the Emirates again.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

We were woeful in the FA Cup game and Watford got their tactics spot on that day so we’re going to have to play a lot better this weekend if we want to secure a much-needed win.

I’m not sure I agree with Merse that there’s no pressure on Arsenal as I haven’t entirely given up on the title just yet, but I do think we’ll get things right and beat Watford on Saturday.
