It looks like we’re set to receive yet another injury blow with the Telegraph reporting that Aaron Ramsey is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines with a thigh tear.

Ramsey was forced off just 15 minutes after coming on as a second half substitute during our 4-0 FA Cup replay victory over Hull City on Tuesday night.

Gabriel and Per Mertesacker also picked up knocks at the KC Stadium but Arsene Wenger said after the match that it was Ramsey’s injury that was the most concerning.

It appears those concerns were well placed as the Telegraph claim that the club fear the midfielder has suffered a thigh tear which would rule him out for six weeks.

The full scan results are due today but even a minor strain would see Ramsey miss the rest of the month, while a tear would keep his out for six weeks or possibly longer.

So the best-case scenario would see the 25-year-old miss our next three games against Watford [FA Cup], Barcelona [Champions League] and Everton [Premier League] this month before the international break.

However, a six-week lay-off would mean Ramsey also missing Premier League games against Watford, West Ham and Crystal Palace as well as a possible FA Cup semi final next month.

Let’s hope for good news when the scan results are revealed but it looks as though Arsene is going to have to go with Mohamed Elneny alongside Francis Coquelin over the next couple of weeks.

Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere could be back after the international break as long as they don’t suffer any setbacks in training this month, so the boss could have more options in April, but we’re going to have to make-do with what we’ve got for now.

It’s another huge blow as Ramsey joins a lengthy injury list that also includes Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mikel Arteta as well as Wilshere, Cazorla, Gabriel and Mertesacker.
