Arsene Wenger confirms blow as midfielder could miss 3 months
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Tomas Rosicky has suffered a partial rupture in his thigh muscle and could be out for up to three months.
Rosicky has endured another injury-plagued season and made his first appearance of the campaign after coming on as a late substitute against Burnley last weekend.
However, it soon emerged that the midfielder had picked up yet another injury problem just minutes in to his 20 minute cameo and reports claimed that Rosicky was facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Unfortunately the boss has now confirmed the bad news after telling reporters at his press conference this morning that the 35-year-old has suffered a partial rupture of his tendon.
The good news is that Rosicky won’t require surgery, but Arsene suggests the injury is still expected to keep the midfielder on the sidelines for between 2-3 months.
Given his age and the fact his contract is up in the June, the chances are we could have seen Rosicky play his last game for Arsenal which would be a devastating blow.
Tomas is one of the most gifted players in the squad but injuries have plagued him throughout his career and unfortunately he’ll be one player who was never able to fulfill his huge potential.
Fingers crossed he can make a swift recovery from this latest setback and can play some part in our run-in as he deserves to leave the club on a high note….not on the treatment table.
