Cruel blow as Arsenal ace suffers new injury setback
Luckless Tomas Rosicky has been dealt a cruel blow after being ruled out for six weeks with a thigh injury that he sustained on Saturday afternoon, reports the Mirror.
Rosicky had missed the entire season so far with a serious knee cartilage injury that he picked-up while away on international duty in June last summer.
The 35-year-old finally made his first appearance of the campaign with a run-out as a second-half substitute during our 2-1 FA Cup fourth round victory over Burnley on Saturday.
However, despite only being on the field for little over 20 minutes, it looks like Tomas has managed to injure himself yet again as the Mirror claim he suffered a thigh injury during his cameo.
The Czech international will be sent for further tests to determine the full extent of the problem but the paper says the initial feeling within the club if Rosicky will be out for around six weeks.
If accurate, the news will come as a major blow to Rosicky as his season has once again been ruined by injury problems which have plagued him throughout his career at Arsenal.
The midfielder made just 15 Premier League appearances during last season and has managed just 170 during his entire 10-year stay in North London having joined the club in 2006.
Rosicky has bags of ability and is a very likable member of the squad but unfortunately he’ll go down as a player who was never able to fulfill his huge potential due to injuries.
Fingers crossed he can make a swift recovery from this latest setback and can play some part in our run-in as he deserves to leave the club on a high note….not on the treatment table.
