Arsenal handed major triple injury boost
It looks like three of Arsenal’s first team players are closing in on making their comebacks from injury with Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere and Danny Welbeck all returning to training, according to reports.
Coquelin has been on the sidelines since suffering a knee ligament injury against West Brom in November and it was initially thought he may not be back until late February.
However, it seems the midfielder could be on course to make a speedy return as according to according to the Times via the Daily Star, Francis is now back on the training pitch.
Wilshere hasn’t played all season after fracturing his fibula in training back in August but the midfielder has been slowly stepping-up his recovery programme in recent weeks and he too has now returned to training.
Welbeck is another who hasn’t played a minute of football this season after he was forced to undergo surgery on a knee injury that he suffered during our 0-0 draw with Chelsea last year.
However, the Times claim he’s now back in training and Arsene appeared to confirm this after telling the media in his press conference this morning that Welbeck is due to make his first team comeback in 2-3 weeks time.
It’s going to take the boys at least a couple of weeks to regain their match fitness and prove they are ready to play top flight football again, but it’s a HUGE boost to hear they are close to being available again.
We’ve missed all three greatly in recent months so it will give our title push a significant boost as we head in to the business end of the season.
