This Arsenal trio set to start against Tottenham
According to the Mirror, Olivier Giroud, David Ospina and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will all start for Arsenal against Tottenham tomorrow night.
Arsene Wenger has been known to field a team full of kids in the early rounds of the Capital One Cup but it looks like the boss may change tact this year in order to try and avoid a third consecutive defeat.
We head to White Hart Lane off the back of disappointing losses away at Dinamo Zagreb and Chelsea so the Mirror claim Arsene will field a relatively experienced side against Spurs to try and secure a morale-boosting win.
The newspaper says Giroud will replace Walcott up front, Ospina will start in goal ahead of Cech while The Ox is also set to start – presumably on the right-wing.
Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta are also expected to play some part in the game, with one of the duo set to come in for Francis Coquelin in the holding role.
The Frenchman was substituted at half-time against Chelsea on Saturday after picking up a knee injury and while the Mirror claim the problem isn’t serious, it’s thought that Coquelin won’t be risked tomorrow night.
Santi Cazorla and Gabiel will miss the game through suspension and let’s not forget Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky are all injured, so we’ve got a limited squad to choose from.
Hopefully Per Mertesacker will be passed fit to return after missing the last five games with a nasty virus.
