Ratings: Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal: Cazorla Poor, Ozil Anonymous
A highly frustrating, but all-too predictable, game unfolded at Stamford Bridge that saw Gabriel and Santi Cazorla sent off as we lost 2-0 to Chelsea.
Here are my ratings:
Cech 6/10 – Didn’t put a foot wrong against his former side and could do little for either goal.
Bellerin 6.5/10 – Was dangerous down the wing before we went down to 10. Did well against Hazard.
Gabriel 5/10 – Yes, Costa should obviously have been sent off, but Gabriel was stupid to be wound up by the Chelsea man. Should have known better BUT I do think he was unfortunate. Was is a genuine kick out? Or was he simply walking backward? I’m yet to see a replay that shows a proper kick at Costa.
Koscielny 6/10 – At fault for the opener as he dropped to early and played Zouma on.
Monreal 6/10 – Another decent shift from the reliable Monreal.
Coquelin 7/10 – Was having a great game before he jarred his knee which forced him off at the break.
Cazorla 4/10 – A very poor display all round. Gave the ball away far too much and was sent off for two silly fouls. He’s been nowhere near his best so far this season.
Ramsey 6/10 – Worked hard but again kept drifting inside. Should start in the middle ahead of Cazorla and get a proper wide man out on the right.
Ozil 4/10 – Anonymous. Was doing okay when we had 11 but went missing once Gabriel had gone. We really need more from him in big games like these.
Alexis 6/10 – Fluffed a great chance to level things at 1-1 in the 60th minute. Is really struggling to find his form but at least he’s trying.
Walcott 7/10 – Looked dangerous on the counter in the first half. Was left isolated when we were down to 10.
Subs:
Chambers (6), Giroud (5), The Ox (5).
Another day to forget and two frustrating defeats is hard the ideal way to begin a key week for the club. A North London Derby in the League Cup now awaits, and with Arsene likely to put out a weakened side, there’s a real chance we could suffer our third straight loss….
