Wenger: Wilshere Set For Swift Injury Return
Arsene Wenger has claimed that Jack Wilshere could be set for a swift injury return and may be back training in just two weeks.
Wilshere suffered yet another ankle injury in training last weekend and the media have suggested he’s facing at least 6-8 weeks on the sidelines after fracturing a bone in his fibula.
Arsenal confirmed the injury yesterday but didn’t give any indication of timescale and it appears the boss is a little more optimistic than the newspapers on when Jack could be back in action.
Wenger has been speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning ahead of Sunday’s Premier League opener against West Ham and he’s been quoted by journalist Kevin Palmer as saying that Wilshere should be back quicker than expected.
The boss apparently said that Jack could be training again in just two weeks and be available for first team action in four weeks.

Obviously it would be a HUGE boost if this turns out to be the case. Just a few days ago the press were suggesting Jack might need surgery which would rule him out for three months so it would be amazing if he could now be training again in just two weeks.
We’ll have to be cautious though as Wenger doesn’t have a great track record in prediction comeback dates for injured players, so we’ll just have to see how Wilshere’s recovery goes over the coming weeks.
