Arsenal On Verge Of First Summer Signing, £11m Deal Close
It looks like we’re closing in on our first summer signing as according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea have agreed to sell Petr Cech to Arsenal for £11m and Jose Mourinho is already working hard to bring in a replacement.
Cech told Chelsea on Monday he wants to leave in search of regular first team football and we’ve emerged as the most likely destination.
Chelsea’s own goalkeeping coach claimed earlier this week that the Czech international favoured a move to the Emirates as he wants to remain in London and play for a top club.
The only thing preventing a potential deal was Chelsea and it appears that obstacle has now been overcome as the Daily Mail are claiming that the Blues have agreed to do business with us.
The paper suggests the sale price will be around £11m but Chelsea won’t let the 33-year-old leave until they’ve lined-up a replacement.
The good news is Jose Mourinho is already on the case and he’s believed to be working hard to sign Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic – who’s about to enter the final year of his contract.
Hopefully they can secure that deal soon allowing Cech to join Arsenal. Even if it takes a few weeks, Cech will be worth the wait. He’s a genuine world class goalkeeper and that’s something we haven’t had for a long, long time.
So it looks like we’re on the verge of wrapping-up our first signing of the summer and what a way it would be to kick off our business ahead of next season.
If we could bring in Schneiderlin or Kondogbia and a top class striker, we’ll be all set for a REAL assault on the Premier League title next year!
