Arsenal Eye £5.5m Bid For World Cup Star, Sanchez Pushing The Deal
Reports coming out of Brazil are claiming that Arsenal are keen on signing Chilean midfielder Charles Aranguiz and Alexis Sanchez is personally pushing Arsene Wenger to complete the deal.
Aranguiz currently plays for Internacional in the Brasileirão and he starred for Chile at last summers World Cup, helping knock out Spain and pushing Brazil all the way in their last-16 clash.
It appears the deep-lying playmaker has caught the eye of Arsene Wenger as reports from Brazilian outlet ZH claim that the boss has been scouting the 25-year-old after being impressed by his performances last summer.
The report suggests that we’re lining-up a £5.5m bid this summer and that Alexis Sanchez is personally pushing for the deal to happen in order for his compatriot to join him in North London.
Aranguiz has 31 international caps, so should have no problem getting a work permit, but a major stumbling block over any potential deal could be that a third party own 70% of his economic rights.
Arsenal usually steer clear of trying to sign players who are owned by third parties due tot he inevitable complications that can arise with such deals, so it will be interesting to see how things develop here.
The belief is that Delcir Sonda, who own 70% of the player, are happy to sell and have set their price but it remains to be seen whether that figure matches-up with what Internacional are prepared to do business at.
