Arsenal have ‘made contact’ to sign Turkish international forward Kenan Yildiz from Juventus this summer, according to reports via TEAMtalk.
Yıldız has emerged as one of Europe’s brightest young talents since his breakthrough in 2023. After impressing throughout the academy ranks, he became a regular member of the first-team matchday squad before being handed his maiden start in December 2023 against Frosinone. He marked the occasion with a goal in a 2-1 victory, becoming Juventus’s youngest foreign goalscorer at 18 years and 233 days.
Since then, the 21-year-old has grown into one of Juventus’ most important players. Despite inconsistent results and a series of managerial changes in recent seasons, he has remained ever-present in the starting XI.
His outstanding displays during the recently concluded campaign earned him a place in Turkey’s 26-man World Cup squad after registering 17 goal involvements in Serie A and 21 across all competitions.
Yildiz is comfortable playing across the frontline and in attacking midfield, and such dynamism and quality will undoubtedly draw keen interest from top clubs, including Arsenal.
It appears the Gunners are accelerating efforts to sign the 21-year-old, as reports via TEAMtalk reveal that Mikel Arteta’s side have ‘made contact’ for a ‘blockbuster move’ for the exciting forward.
‘Blockbuster move’
The report adds that Arsenal’s enquiries are aimed at understanding the finances involved in the potential transfer of Yildiz to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
However, Juventus have made their stance clear: they have ‘zero desire’ to sell their whizkid and will only listen to offers starting at £86m for the Turkish international, according to the report.
In addition, he could also be a direct replacement for Leandro Trossard, who is reportedly closing in on a move to 16-time Turkish champions Beşiktaş.
A move for Yildiz makes sense, as he could be a direct replacement for Leandro Trossard, who is reportedly set to leave Arsenal.
Yıldız has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to deliver on the biggest stages, producing impressive performances for Juventus in both Serie A and the UEFA Champions League.
His tireless off-ball work rate further underscores his complete skill set, as he contributes just as effectively in defensive phases as he does in attack.
With Juventus showing firm reluctance to sell him, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will meet their £86m valuation or explore other attainable targets.
