Arsenal are reportedly ‘weighing up’ a move to sign AFC Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi, as per TEAMtalk.

After moving to Vitality Stadium from Lorient, the 19-year-old enjoyed a stellar debut campaign in the Premier League last term, scoring 13 goals in 21 Premier League starts.

He even showed a tendency to step up in big games, netting twice against Manchester United and Arsenal. Moreover, he scored vs Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.

As a result, he has placed himself on the radar of several big clubs across Europe. TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal are ‘weighing up’ a move for Kroupi as they want to bolster the frontline with an ‘electric’ new forward.

Apart from the Gunners, Spurs and Paris Saint-Germain are also in this race. Les Parisiens are keen on purchasing a new striker, having allowed Goncalo Ramos to join AC Milan.

On the other hand, the Lilywhites have been working hard to upgrade several areas of the squad, having finished 17th in the last two Premier League campaigns.

After overhauling the defence, they have upgraded the midfield department. Now, they are looking to strengthen the attacking department.

Kroupi to Arsenal

Bournemouth are said to be closing in on a deal to sign Álvaro Rodríguez from Elche, and having already got Evanilson, questions started to arise over whether the Cherries are preparing to let Kroupi leave this summer.

However, Bournemouth have made it clear that they have no intention of parting ways with the Frenchman, with the player’s existing deal set to run until 2030.

Kroupi, valued at around £70m by Transfermarkt, is a centre-forward by trait but is comfortable playing as a second striker. He is quick, can finish off his chances, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, and is also efficient at taking penalties.

He showed glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League last campaign and possesses the potential to become a top-class striker in the future.

So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
