Arsenal eye ambitious swoop to sign Bradley Barcola
Arsenal are reportedly planning to launch an ambitious swoop to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, as per Caught Offside.
After moving to Parc des Princes from Olympique Lyonnais back in 2023, the Frenchman initially took time to settle into his new surroundings before showcasing his productivity during the 2024/25 campaign.
In 65 appearances across all competitions, the 23-year-old scored 21 goals and registered 20 assists. Moreover, he helped his side win the quadruple.
Although he couldn’t replicate that form last term, he still enjoyed a successful campaign, winning the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League. He made 19 goal contributions in 41 appearances.
Having proven his worth in club football, Barcola has secured his place in Didier Deschamps’ French national team, helping his country reach the World Cup last-16.
Although the youngster has shown glimpses of his abilities for PSG, he has struggled to break into Luis Enrique’s starting line-up in important matches.
As a result, speculation surrounding his future has been emerging in this window. Now, Caught Offside claim that Arsenal have identified Barcola as a serious option to strengthen the left flank and could make a concrete approach, but Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is the primary target.
Barcola to Arsenal
Liverpool are currently showing the most concrete interest in signing the Frenchman and are leading the race ahead of the North London club. However, PSG have no intention of letting him leave, although they have been working hard to add further depth to the flanks.
With Barcola’s existing deal set to run until 2028, Les Parisiens aren’t in any rush to sell him this summer, and the player is valued at around £60m by Transfermarkt.
Barcola is a left-winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. The forward possesses the necessary physical attributes to flourish in the Premier League and hasn’t reached his prime yet.
Therefore, the PSG star might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this summer transfer window.
