Arsenal ‘keep pushing’ to sign Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers

By on July 2, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly ‘pushing’ hard to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

With the transfer window in full swing, clubs across Europe have been working hard to reshape their squads ahead of next season. The Gunners seemingly don’t want to sit back and relax despite already assembling one of the best squads in the world.

Now, on his YouTube channel, Romano states that Arsenal have identified Rogers as the ‘number one’ target to bolster the frontline and have already made progress in talks with the player.

The Villans know about the Gunners’ and other clubs like Chelsea’s interest in Rogers. They have slapped a whopping £130m price tag on his head, with his existing deal set to run until 2031.

Still, the North London club ‘keep pushing’ and are hoping to negotiate. They are planning to structure the deal in a creative way by including clauses to find a solution.

Romano said:

“For Arsenal, the number one option remains Morgan Rogers. For Morgan Rogers, the information in England from the Telegraph is correct, so Aston Villa want to put a price around £130 million to let Morgan Rogers leave this summer. Aston Villa are aware of Arsenal’s interest.

“Aston Villa are also aware of interest from other clubs, including Chelsea, but in this moment, Arsenal made very good progress on the player’s side for some time, and so Arsenal keep pushing for Morgan Rogers. Arsenal hope to find a way to negotiate, maybe with a clause, maybe with a different structure. Arsenal hope to be creative in order to find a solution for Morgan Rogers.”

Rogers to Arsenal

Since moving to Villa Park from Middlesbrough, the 23-year-old has established himself as one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League.

In 55 appearances across all competitions, he scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists last term. Moreover, he helped his side qualify for next season’s Champions League by finishing fourth in the league. The Englishman even guided his side to lift the Europa League.

Rogers is a creative midfielder by trait but is also comfortable on the left flank. Furthermore, he can provide cover on the opposite side if needed. After proving his worth in club football, the midfielder has secured his place in the England squad.

Rogers is a Premier League proven player and hasn’t reached his prime yet. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in this transfer window.
