Arsenal ‘actively pursuing’ a deal to sign Kenan Yildiz
Arsenal are ‘actively pursuing’ a blockbuster deal to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per Turkish Football.
Despite winning the Premier League title last term, the Gunners are prioritising revamping the left flank this summer following Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard’s inconsistent performances in recent years.
A plethora of names have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks, with Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers and Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola being among them.
However, the Villans don’t want to part ways with him and have slapped an enormous price tag on his head to keep the vultures away. On the other hand, Les Parisiens are also reluctant to sell Barcola.
So, it appears the Gunners have been forced to go deep into their wishlist to bolster the frontline, and Turkish Football report that Arsenal are ‘actively pursuing’ a deal to sign Yildiz.
Following the conclusion of the Turkish man’s World Cup campaign, Arsenal have already initiated a move by making ‘formal’ enquiries over this deal.
However, having recently tied him down to a fresh long-term contract until 2030, the Old Lady of Turin have no intention of letting him leave and want more than £86m.
Yildiz to Arsenal
Yildiz is a versatile forward as he is a left-winger by trait, but is also comfortable providing cover in the creative midfield position if needed. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and also works hard without possession.
Although Juventus displayed inconsistent performances last term, the 21-year-old showed glimpses of his qualities, scoring 11 goals and registering nine assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.
Having proven his worth in club football, Yildiz has established himself as an undisputed starter in the Turkish national team’s starting line-up.
He is a highly talented player and is considered one of the best forwards in Serie A. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium before the start of next season.
