Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

After finishing as runners-up in the previous three Premier League campaigns, the Gunners finally won the title last term, ending a wait of more than two decades.

Mikel Arteta is keen on continuing the momentum over the coming years; as a result, the North London club have started exploring options to freshen up the squad this summer.

It has been widely documented that Arsenal want to upgrade the left flank, as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard displayed average performances last term.

Now, on his YouTube channel, Romano states that Arsenal are interested in Barcola and could make a concrete approach to secure his service over the coming weeks.

However, Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is Arsenal’s primary target to reinforce the flanks. So, perhaps, Barcola is seen as an alternative option in-case they fail to purchase the Englishman.

The journalist claims that apart from Arsenal, Liverpool are also interested in the PSG star despite already purchasing Victor Muñoz from Osasuna.

Barcola to Arsenal

Barcola is valued at around £60m by Transfermarkt and is set to enter the final two years of his current contract. So, Les Parisiens are in a strong position to demand a big fee if they opt to let him leave.

Barcola is a left-winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, and also works hard without possession.

Since moving to Parc des Princes from Olympique Lyonnais, he has showcased his productivity in recent years, although he plays as a rotational option under Luis Enrique.

In 48 appearances across all competitions, he made 19 goal contributions last term. He even helped France win their opening World Cup game against Senegal by scoring an excellent goal.

Barcola is a top-class player and hasn’t reached his prime yet. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
