Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has urged his former club to sign AFC Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi.

After rebuilding the squad over the last six years, Mikel Arteta finally managed to help the Gunners win the Premier League title last campaign. They even reached the Champions League final before losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.

Arsenal currently have one of the best squads in Europe, and finding options that will elevate the crop is a bit difficult at the moment.

However, during a recent interview (via the Standard), Parlour has urged Arsenal to reinforce the frontline by purchasing Kroupi. The 19-year-old is an extremely talented young player, and Mikel Arteta has proven that he is capable of nurturing youngsters. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

Moreover, the former midfielder states that the Gunners could do with upgrading the left flank, and Morgan Rogers, who is a fantastic player, would be an excellent option as he is comfortable on either flank, even though he is a creative midfielder by trait.

Parlour said:

“Kroupi’s a very good, talented player, there’s no doubt about that. He’s a young player, and you know Mikel Arteta can make players even better when they’re young, so that would be a good signing.”

With the player’s existing deal set to run until 2030, the Cherries aren’t in any rush to sell him this summer and have slapped a whopping £100m price tag on his head to keep the vultures away.

Kroupi to Arsenal

After moving to Vitality Stadium from Lorient last summer, the Frenchman enjoyed a promising debut campaign in the Premier League, scoring 13 goals in 21 starts last term.

The youngster has the ability to step up in big games as he scored twice against Manchester United and Arsenal, while he also netted vs Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City last season.

Kroupi is a talented player and possesses the potential to reach the top. However, he is still very young and needs time to develop. So, the North Londoners need to be patient with him if he joins.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually listen to their legend’s advice and make a move to secure his service ahead of next campaign.
