Arsenal interested in signing Man Utd’s Rashford

By on June 10, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, as per the Daily Mail.

After joining Barcelona on loan from the Red Devils, the 28-year-old enjoyed a successful time last term, winning a La Liga title and Supercopa de España.

He mainly featured as a rotational option under Hansi Flick. Still, he showcased his productivity, scoring 14 goals and registering 11 assists in 26 starts across all competitions.

Having proven his worth in the Spanish top-flight, Rashford has secured his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England national team for this summer’s World Cup.

However, the Daily Mail report that after purchasing Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United, Barcelona aren’t planning to make Rashford’s loan deal permanent by triggering the £26m option.

They wanted to keep hold of him but were only willing to spend around £13m. However, Man Utd didn’t accept the proposal. Now, the player is available on the market once again as the Old Trafford club don’t want to keep him. United are even hoping he has a promising World Cup with England to boost his value.

Following Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard’s inconsistent performances last term, Arsenal are considering upgrading the left flank and are interested in signing Rashford by taking advantage of his current situation.

However, the report state that Arsenal will have to overcome fierce competition to seal the deal as Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea are in this race as well.

Rashford is a versatile forward, as he likes to be deployed on the left flank but is also efficient on the opposite side. Furthermore, he can provide cover in the centre-forward position if needed. Mikel Arteta even likes having players who can play multiple positions.

The Man Utd star is quick, strong, can deliver excellent crosses from the flanks, and has an eye for scoring goals from distance. He is a Premier League-proven player and is currently at the prime stage of his career. So, he might be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to lure him to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
