Arsenal learn price tag to sign Bournemouth star Kroupi
Arsenal have been informed that they will need to break the bank to sign AFC Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, according to a recent report.
Despite winning the Premier League title last term, the Gunners’ striker position was in a state of flux. They purchased Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP to address their CF issues, but he endured a tough debut campaign in the Premier League.
Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are the other striker options Mikel Arteta has. However, the duo has struggled with fitness problems in recent years.
On the other hand, Jesus is set to enter the final year of his current contract, so speculation surrounding his future has been emerging ahead of the summer window.
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal have expressed their interest in Kroupi after being impressed by his performances last term, scoring 13 Premier League goals.
Apart from the North London club, Liverpool, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are in this race as well. Chelsea and PSG have even made firm approaches to seal the deal
However, as per a recent report (via TEAMtalk), Bournemouth have no intention of selling the 19-year-old, having purchased him last year. They are keen on keeping hold of their stars to help new manager Marco Rose perform well next season.
Kroupi to Arsenal
However, if they are eventually forced to cash-in on him, they have slapped a whopping more than £100m price tag on his head, with his existing deal set to run until 2030.
In-case Arsenal fail to sign the Bournemouth star, they have identified Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao as alternative options to bolster the attack.
Kroupi is comfortable playing in the centre-forward and second striker roles. He has the tendency to step up in big games and is considered one of the best young strikers in the Premier League.
So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to secure his service by breaking the bank in this transfer window.
