Arsenal have earmarked Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as a possible option to reinforce their attack in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, and the versatile Noni Madueke are the left-sided options at Mikel Arteta’s disposal this campaign.

However, Trossard and Martinelli are facing an uncertain future at the club, and recent reports suggest that at least one of the attacking duo could depart the club in the summer.

As a result, motion has already been taken in a bid to find a potential quality replacement, with the latest report linking PSG’s Barcola to the club.

The winger has enjoyed a meteoric rise since joining the 14-time French champions from Lyon in the summer of 2023, providing 76 goal contributions while playing key roles in the club’s trophy-laden success in recent years.

In the ongoing campaign, despite playing second fiddle to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who Enrique prefers in his attack alongside Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé, Barcola has remained a constant threat to opponents whenever called upon, having netted 13 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions.

It’s no surprise his performances have piqued the interest of Arsenal, according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the Gunners have shown a ‘genuine interest’ in signing the winger.

‘Genuine interest’

The journalist adds that the newly crowned Premier League champions are looking to reinforce their attack in the summer and now hold a longstanding interest in Barcola.

Although the youngster has reportedly been in talks over a contract extension, the transfer expert clarifies that he has yet to agree to any contractual terms, which has led to interest in his signature from clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said, ‘Barcola is still not signing a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain as of now, and so I would say … Barcola could be again a serious option for Liverpool.’

On Arsenal’s interest, the Italian added, ‘So this could be the domino on Barcola.’ There is genuine interest also from Arsenal.

Arsenal are also considering adding an important offensive player. We have to see whether he’s going to be a winger or whether he’s going to be more kind of a striker, so Arsenal have to decide internally what they want to do.’

With talks stalling, PSG could look to cash in on Barcola amid interest from the Gunners, and there’s an expectation he could cost more than his £60m Transfermarkt valuation.
