Arsenal interested in signing Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford

By on May 6, 2026

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, as per TEAMtalk.

After joining Barcelona on loan last summer, the 28-year-old has played as a rotational option under Hansi Flick this season. Still, he has showcased his productivity, scoring 13 goals and registering 11 assists in 23 starts across all competitions.

The Englishman has been helping his side mount a La Liga title charge, and they just need to avoid defeat in El Clásico against Real Madrid this weekend to lift the title.

Now, TEAMtalk claim that Barcelona have a £26m option to make Rashford’s loan deal permanent, and the forward is determined to stay.

However, Barcelona don’t want to sign him permanently this summer; instead, they want to extend his loan deal for one more year. The Blaugrana have been in financial difficulties but have identified top-class players like Julian Alvarez and Alessandro Bastoni as serious targets to bolster the squad.

So, they don’t want to invest big money to sign Rashford permanently, and Man Utd don’t want to bring him back due to his high salary. As a result, they are ready to sell him elsewhere.

Arsenal are planning to reinforce the left flank this summer as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard haven’t been able to showcase their best consistently this season.

Rashford to Arsenal

They have identified Rashford as a serious option and have been monitoring his situation closely before making a potential swoop in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, the report state that apart from the North London club, Bayern Munich are also interested in signing him.

Rashford is an experienced left-winger but is also efficient in providing cover in the centre-forward position if needed. He previously showcased his qualities in the Premier League and could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his services during the offseason.

Meanwhile, after overcoming Atlético Madrid’s challenge in the Champions League semi-final, Arsenal have reached the final of the competition for the first time since 2006.
