Arsenal take on Atletico Madrid at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano this evening in the first leg of our Champions League semi-final tie.
We reached the last-4 after beating Sporting Lisbon 1-0 on aggregate in the previous round. Kai Havertz late strike in the first leg was enough to separate the two teams before a rather disappointing 0-0 second leg draw at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners now face-off against a tough Atletico Madrid side for a place in the final where Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain will be waiting the victors in Budapest.
Mikel Arteta has made some changes from the side that beat Newcastle United 1-0 in the Premier League at the weekend. However, David Raya starts in goal once again with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes offering protection in front of him.
Ben White starts at right-back in the continued absence of Jurrien Timber while Piero Hincapie keeps his place at left-back with the returning Riccardo Calafiori named on the bench.
Martin Zubimendi anchors the midfield with Declan Rice also keeping his place in the middle of the park for Arsenal. Martin Odegaard captains the side once again as he starts in the attacking midfield role.
Bukayo Saka made his return from injury off the bench at the weekend but he’s still not fit to start so Noni Madueke starts on the right flank. Eberechi Eze has been passed fit after limping off on Saturday but he’s on the bench with Gabriel Martinelli recalled on the left wing.
Kai Havertz has been ruled out after picking up a muscle injury against Newcastle so Viktor Gyokeres is recalled to lead the line up front for Arsenal tonight.
These are the teams:
