Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Sporting Lisbon – Eze and Rice start for Gunners
Arsenal will be looking to finish the job and book their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League when they take on Sporting Lisbon at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
We take a slender 1-0 lead into tonight’s quarter-final second leg after Kai Havertz scored a late winner in Portugal last week. Arsenal are in the driving seat but need to get over the line tonight to book a date with Atletico Madrid in the last-4.
Mikel Arteta has made a three changes from the side that lost to Bournemouth in the Premier League at the weekend. David Raya keeps his place between the sticks while William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes continue their partnership in the middle of defence.
However, there are changes in both full-back positions with Cristhian Mosquera coming in for Ben White at right-back while Piero Hincapie replaces Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back.
Martin Zubimendi starts once again in the holding role and all eyes will be on the Spaniard amid a worrying dip in form. Declan Rice is passed fit to start after shaking off a knock and Eberechi Eze is recalled to start in the attacking midfield role for Arsenal.
Kai Havertz is the man to make way after another failed stint in the No.10 role at the weekend. Viktor Gyokeres leads the line up front with Noni Madueke keeping his place on the right flank in the continued absence of Bukayo Saka.
Gabriel Martinelli starts on the left side of the Arsenal attack so Leandro Trossard has to make do with a place on the bench alongside Max Dowman and Gabriel Jesys.
Here are the teams:
