Arsenal keen on signing Lewis Hall from Newcastle

Arsenal are plotting a swoop to sign Newcastle United’s left-back Lewis Hall next summer, according to CaughtOffside.
Hall is one of the notable graduates of Chelsea’s renowned Cobham Academy, which also developed his teammate Tino Livramento. His senior debut came under Graham Potter on November 12, 2022, in a 1–0 loss to Newcastle United — the same club that later signed him in 2023, initially on loan before making the deal permanent.
Since completing that move, he has established himself as an important part of Eddie Howe’s defensive setup, featuring 96 times across all competitions for the Magpies while also earning four caps for England.
During the current campaign, the Englishman has featured in 42 games across all competitions and 35 of Newcastle’s 32 league matches, most recently starting in Sunday’s clash against Crystal Palace.
Despite the Magpies losing 2-1, the 21-year-old was one of the standout players for his side, completing 85.7% of his 63 passes, winning two fouls, creating one chance while having a shot on target and covering 11.18 km of distance in a tireless display on the left.
According to CaughtOffside, Hall’s performances have drawn interest from several clubs across Europe ahead of the summer transfer window.
In the Premier League, the report adds that Arsenal are among the clubs closely monitoring his displays at St James’ Park.
Arsenal in fierce battle for Hall
Mikel Arteta utilises tactically fitting fullbacks for a possession-based style of play, with the Englishman now viewed as a natural fit for that role, having been impressed by his immense development and technical qualities, according to the report.
Amid Arsenal’s interest, a deal won’t be easy, as CaughtOffside reports that Hall remains a vital part of Newcastle’s future, and the Tyneside club will only listen to offers in the region of £50-55m, although that valuation is likely to rise as more clubs continue to show interest.
With Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona, and Real Madrid all set to battle with the Gunners for the Englishman’s signature, according to the report, the valuation is likely to increase in the summer, especially with three years left in his contract.
Hall has proven reliable on both ends of the pitch, averaging 68.3 touches per 90. He also averages 2.5 tackles per 90 in the Premier League this term, whereas Lewis-Skelly has averaged just 0.3 per 90.
With rumours about Myles Lewis-Skelly’s potential departure swirling in the media in recent weeks, Hall would be a good option to replace his compatriot at the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
