Arsenal are in talks for the transfer of Monaco forward Maghnes Akliouche to the Emirates Stadium next summer, according to French outlet Media Foot.

Since Sébastien Pocognoli’s appointment in October, Monaco have experienced a strong resurgence, especially in the second half of the season, winning seven of their last eight games.

At the heart of that improvement is Akliouche, whose creativity and attacking sharpness have been pivotal to the team’s revival.

In all competitions this campaign, the 24-year-old has produced seven goals and eight assists, with one of his most notable contributions arriving in the 3–1 win over league leaders Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes last month, where he both scored and assisted.

He followed that up with another standout display in Sunday’s 2–1 victory against Marseille, further emphasising his ability to rise to the occasion in big games.

According to Media Foot, Akliouche was a subject of keen interest from Paris Saint-Germain, but a move failed to materialise due to Monaco’s £52-60m valuation.

Still, the report adds that the winger remains a subject of ‘concrete’ interest from Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, who are now very keen on signing him in the summer.

‘Concrete’ interest

It appears the Premier League leaders are accelerating their efforts to land him, as the French outlet adds that the Gunners have been in talks with Akliouche’s representatives in recent months to discuss his potential transfer to the Emirates Stadium.

However, Arsenal face stern competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea, who have now formally joined the race for the France international’s signature, according to the report.

Arsenal’s open-play xG in the 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth was 0.19, their second lowest at home in the Premier League since recording 0.17 v Crystal Palace in October 2025.

They have also netted only one goal from open play in their last three domestic fixtures, indicating the need not just for another attacker, but for one with the creativity to unlock teams and the goal-scoring threat to finish chances.

Hence, Akliouche would be a good fit for that role. The 24-year-old offers versatility and sharp vision in threading passes even from the tightest of spaces.

Having been in talks with the player’s camp, Arsenal will hope their progressive project, as well as the prospect of playing in the Champions League, will convince the youngster to join them ahead of Chelsea.
