Arsenal ‘pushing hard’ to sign Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid

By on March 31, 2026

Arsenal are ‘pushing hard’ to complete the signing of Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz, according to Fichajes.

Since moving to the Bernabéu from Manchester City in 2019, Díaz has enjoyed a significant upturn in form, playing an important role in the club’s recent success.

However, after featuring in 56 games across all competitions under Carlo Ancelotti last season, first-team opportunities have been difficult to come by since Xabi Alonso’s appointment and, subsequently, under Alvaro Arbeloa.

This season, Diaz has played only 676 minutes in LaLiga, with the Los Blancos coaches preferring Arda Güler, Rodrygo, and sometimes Federico Valverde on the left ahead of him in the pecking order.

Despite his minimal game time, he has showcased qualities whenever called upon, with five assists in LaLiga and also won the top scorer award at the recently concluded African Cup of Nations tournament after netting five goals, the most by any Moroccan player in the history of the competition.

With his role in the team still limited, rumours about a potential departure are beginning to swirl, especially with one year left in his contract, and several clubs are now showing interest.

The latest club to express interest in Diaz is Arsenal, according to Fichajes, which claims that the Premier League table toppers are looking to reinforce their attack with an effective forward and have earmarked the 26-year-old for that role.

Arteta wants Diaz

The report adds that the Gunners’ boss, Mikel Arteta, admires his profile and believes he could become a vital cog in his attacking system.

Arsenal are now making a ‘strong push’ to complete the deal by preparing to submit a formal £43m offer for the Spanish-born Moroccan international’s transfer to the Emirates Stadium, according to the Spanish outlet.

Mikel Arteta will be keen for Arsenal to return to winning ways after the international break while keeping their treble ambitions alive.

Before the halt in club football, the Gunners lost the EFL Cup final to Manchester City.

Their first game after the break will be against Southampton in the FA Cup next Saturday, before the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Sporting CP on Tuesday at the Estádio José Alvalade.

They then resume Premier League action on April 11, hosting Bournemouth as they aim to preserve their nine-point lead at the top of the table.
