Predicted Arsenal line-up against Everton
Following a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League last-16 first leg, Arsenal are set to face Everton at the Emirates Stadium in a crucial Premier League encounter this evening.
The Gunners are currently at the top of the table with 67 points from 30 matches, sitting seven points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, having played an extra game.
On the other hand, the Toffees have enjoyed a promising campaign under David Moyes this campaign, sitting eighth in the table with 43 points from 29 matches.
They are currently only one point behind seventh-placed Brentford, and finishing seventh should be enough to qualify for European competition next term.
Everton are coming into this game off the back of back-to-back victories over Newcastle United and Burnley. So, they are currently full of confidence and even managed to come away with a draw from the Emirates last term.
However, Arsenal won the reverse fixture vs Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium earlier this season courtesy of Viktor Gyokeres’ solitary goal from the penalty spot.
Team news
Mikel Merino remains sidelined due to his injury, but Ben White was in the matchday squad vs Leverkusen after recovering from his injury and should be fit enough to feature today.
Leandro Trossard was absent in midweek, having sustained a knock against Mansfield Town in the FA Cup fifth round last weekend, and is in doubt for this fixture. Moreover, there is a question mark over Martin Odegaard’s availability as well.
Predicted line-up
David Raya is set to keep hold of his place in goal, while William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes should be the centre-back pairing for the North London club.
Jurrien Timber is likely to be the right-back, and Riccardo Calafiori may get the nod to start on the opposite side ahead of Piero Hincapié.
Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice would be the midfield partnership, while Kai Havertz could commence in the creative midfield position. So, Eberechi Eze might feature off the bench if needed.
Noni Madueke is expected to be the right-winger ahead of Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli should be on the opposite side. Gabriel Jesus may get the nod to start in the centre-forward position for Arsenal; in that case, Viktor Gyokeres would feature as a substitute.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Everton
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori, Zubimendi, Rice, Havertz; Madueke, Jesus, Martinelli
