Arsenal keen on signing AC Milan’s Christian Pulisic
Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic, as per Caught Offside.
Having finished second in the last three consecutive Premier League seasons, the Gunners decided to add depth to several departments last summer to challenge on all fronts this season.
Mikel Arteta has been taking advantage of that, guiding the North London club to win the quadruple. They are currently at the top of the Premier League table with a four-point lead, while Arsenal have secured their place in the Champions League round of 16, having won all eight matches in the league phase.
Moreover, they have reached the final of the Carabao Cup and have qualified for the FA Cup fifth round after defeating Portsmouth and Wigan Athletic in the last two matches.
Amid this situation, Arteta’s side have already started exploring options to strengthen the squad in the summer to maintain their level next season.
Caught Offside claim that Arsenal are interested in bolstering the wide forward position and have earmarked Pulisic as a key option, after being attracted by his performances in Serie A.
The USA international’s existing deal is set to expire at the end of next season, so speculation surrounding his future has started emerging ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.
Pulisic to Arsenal
The forward is open to returning to the Premier League, and the Rossoneri are prepared to let him leave during the offseason for a fee of at least £61m to avoid losing him for free next year.
After joining Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund, Pulisic struggled to showcase his best in the English top flight, with persistent injury problems one of the main reasons.
However, he has flourished in his career at San Siro Stadium over the last few years, making more than 25 goal contributions in the last two campaigns. This season, he has scored 10 goals and registered two assists.
Pulisic is comfortable playing anywhere across the frontline but prefers to be deployed on the left flank. The 27-year-old is currently at the prime stage of his career and would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually make a concrete approach to secure his service in the summer.
