Arsenal are reportedly showing a ‘concrete interest’ in signing AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

After being impressed by the 27-year-old’s performances for Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea decided to sign him by spending big money. However, he struggled to find his feet in the Premier League, with injury problems being one of the main reasons.

The USA international joined the Rossoneri in 2023 and has been displaying his productivity in Serie A. After making more than 25 goal contributions over the last two seasons, he has scored 10 goals and registered two assists thus far this term.

Moreover, Pulisic has been guiding his side to mount a title charge, sitting second in the table with 50 points from 24 matches.

Now, Fichajes state that although Pulisic’s existing deal is set to expire at the end of next season, Milan haven’t offered him a fresh term yet. So, the player is experiencing deep disappointment, and his relationship with the Italian giants’ management has cooled considerably.

By taking advantage of this situation, Arsenal are looking to sign him, with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard likely to leave at the end of this season.

Mikel Arteta feels Pulisic would be a perfect fit to play in his system, so they are showing ‘concrete interest’ in signing him. The player’s representatives are cautiously considering the possibility of returning to the Premier League.

Pulisic to Arsenal

However, the report claim that purchasing the Milan star won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Liverpool are also interested in him and have been monitoring his situation closely before making a potential swoop.

Pulisic is a left-winger by trait but is also comfortable on the opposite side. However, Massimiliano Allegri has been using him in the striker position in his preferred 3-5-2 system.

Pulisic is currently in the prime of his career and has seemingly managed to overcome his fitness problems, though he has had a few injuries this season.

The forward, valued at around £52m by Transfermarkt, is a talented player and could be a shrewd acquisition for Arsenal should they purchase him for a reasonable fee.

However, there is a question mark over whether he possesses the necessary qualities to help Arsenal achieve their lofty ambitions.
