Arsenal are set to travel to Elland Road to take on relegation-threatened Leeds United in a crucial Premier League encounter this afternoon.

Having accumulated only two points from the last three league matches, the Gunners’ lead at the top of the table has reduced to just four points, with Manchester City sitting second with 46 points from 23 matches.

Although Mikel Arteta’s side endured a disappointing defeat against Manchester United last weekend, they will be coming into this game off the back of a 3-2 victory over Kairat Almaty in the Champions League.

On the other hand, Leeds are currently 16th in the Premier League with 26 points from 23 games, sitting six points above the relegation zone.

Arsenal thrashed the Peacocks 5-0 in the reverse game at the Emirates Stadium last year, with Viktor Gyokeres scoring a brace.

Arsenal have struggled with several injury problems since the start of this season. However, Arteta is expected to have a full squad to choose from today. William Saliba and Jurrien Timber were sidelined due to minor problems in midweek, but they are ready to start.

Predicted line-up

Arteta made wholesale changes to the starting line-up vs Kairat to give the key players a rest, and they are all expected to be recalled in this game. So, David Raya should be in goal ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are likely to be the centre-back pairing, while Jurrien Timber and Piero Hincapié might be the fullbacks. Therefore, Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White, and Riccardo Calafiori would be among the substitutes.

Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice would be the double midfield pivots, with Martin Odegaard likely to be the creative midfielder for the Gunners. So, Mikel Merino and Eberechi Eze might feature off the bench.

Bukayo Saka is set to be on the right flank, while Leandro Trossard should be on the opposite side. So, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Gyokeres could be the centre-forward for the visitors; meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz may feature off the bench if needed.
