Arsenal make transfer enquiries for Karim Adeyemi
Arsenal have reportedly stepped up interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi. Reports from CaughtOffside suggest the club have already made initial enquiries about a possible deal.
The German international is believed to be open to a new challenge after a tough season in Germany. His time at Signal Iduna Park has not gone as planned in recent months.
Adeyemi has struggled to find steady form and rhythm in Dortmund colours this campaign. Despite his issues, Arsenal still view him as a useful option for their attack.
The club believe his pace and movement could suit their style of play.
Adeyemi open to Dortmund exit after hard season
Adeyemi has recorded six goals and three assists in 22 matches this season for Dortmund. Those numbers fall short of expectations placed on him at the start of the campaign.
The 23-year-old has often drifted in and out of matches. Injuries and form issues have also played a part in his struggles. Dortmund are aware of his situation and may be willing to listen to offers this month.
As per the report, Dortmund will demand up to £60 million to sell Adeyemi this month and Arsenal are among those showing a keen interest.
The Gunners have tracked the player for some time. They see him as someone who can add speed and depth across the front line. Adeyemi can play on the left, which fits Arsenal’s current needs.
Arsenal face competition from Man Utd
Adeyemi could offer strong competition for Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. His ability to stretch defences could give Arsenal more balance in wide areas.
He is also capable of playing on the right when needed. At times, he has even been used as a central forward. That flexibility makes him an attractive option for a busy season. Arsenal want players who can cover multiple roles.
However, the Gunners could face stiff competition as CaughtOffside claims that Manchester United are also keeping close tabs on the situation. United see him as a possible spark for their struggling attack.
However, doubts remain from the player’s side. The club’s recent instability has raised concerns about long term plans. This has made Adeyemi cautious about a move to Old Trafford.
Arsenal’s clearer project could give them an edge in the race if the youngster decides to come to England.
