Arsenal sweating over Ben White injury setback

Arsenal are facing concern over defender Ben White after he picked up a hamstring injury during the league win over Wolves.
Reports from the BBC suggest the problem could keep the defender out for at least a month. The club are still waiting for full medical checks to confirm the exact damage to the muscle.
Early signs point towards an absence of between four and six weeks for the England international.
This would be another blow for Mikel Arteta during a season already affected by fitness problems.
Injury worries grow for Arsenal defence
Arsenal have struggled with injuries across the squad throughout the campaign, especially at the back.
White now joins a growing list of defenders currently unavailable for selection.
Gabriel Magalhaes remains sidelined, while Cristhian Mosquera is also dealing with his own fitness issue that will keep him out until the new year.
The defensive absences have forced Arteta to rotate and adjust his backline in recent weeks.
William Saliba and Jurrien Timber both returned at the weekend after overcoming earlier injury problems. Their return offered some relief, but White’s setback adds fresh concern before a busy run of matches.
The coaching staff will be hoping the recovery process moves quickly and without further issues. White’s importance goes beyond defence, as he often supports attacks from wide areas.
Losing the 28-year-old for several weeks could impact Arsenal’s balance at both ends of the pitch.
Key fixtures ahead despite setback
Arsenal face a challenging schedule as they aim to protect their position at the top of the table. The Gunners travel to Everton in the Premier League on Saturday in a tricky away fixture.
That match will test the depth of the squad with defensive options already stretched. Attention will then turn to the Carabao Cup quarter final against Crystal Palace on 23 December. Rotation may be required as Arteta looks to manage minutes and avoid further injuries.
Arsenal currently sit at the summit of the league with a narrow two point advantage. Maintaining that lead will be a key focus during White’s expected time on the sidelines.
The squad have shown resilience during earlier injury spells and will need to do so again. White was recently named Man of the Match in the 2-0 win over Brentford.
That display highlighted his strong form before this latest injury concern. The defender will now focus on recovery with the aim of returning before the season enters a critical stage.
Medical staff will take a careful approach to avoid any risk of further damage.
Arsenal remain hopeful that the injury will not worsen and that White can return as planned. For now, Arteta must rely on available options while keeping the title push on track.
