Arsenal are reportedly ‘preparing’ to submit a formal proposal to sign Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes, as per Caught Offside.

The Gunners decided to spend big money in the last transfer window to add necessary depth to help Mikel Arteta challenge on all fronts this season.

They currently have Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka for the right flank, while Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are the options for the opposite side. Moreover, Eberechi Eze can provide cover on the left side if needed, although he prefers to be deployed in the No.10 role.

On the other hand, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres are the centre-forwards. However, Jesus and Havertz have struggled with fitness problems in recent months; therefore, Arteta has used Mikel Merino in the No.9 role amid Gyokeres’ recent injury absence.

As for the creative midfield position, Martin Odegaard, Eze and Ethan Nwaneri are the options. So, Arsenal are currently well-resourced in the frontline, but Caught Offside claim that Arsenal are looking to add further depth and have identified Rodrygo as a serious target.

The Brazilian has found himself out of favour under Xabi Alonso, making only a handful of starts thus far this season. So, his long-term future is currently uncertain at the Bernabéu, and Arsenal are looking to secure his services by taking advantage of this situation.

Rodrygo to Arsenal

Real Madrid won’t stop the Brazilian from leaving if they receive an offer of around £79m, and Arsenal are ‘preparing’ to make a formal bid to seal the deal. They are even ready to match Los Blancos’ asking price.

However, the report claim that purchasing the Brazilian won’t be straightforward for the North London club as Liverpool are also keen on him and are ready to submit a proposal to sign him.

Rodrygo likes to be deployed on the left flank but is also comfortable on the opposite side. Moreover, he can provide cover centrally if needed. The 24-year-old is a highly talented player and has won every possible major trophy at Real Madrid over the years.

So, he might be a great coup for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his service by defeating Liverpool in this race.
