Confirmed line-ups: Arsenal vs Brnetford- Madueke starts, Saka rested
Arsenal will look to cement their position at the top of the Premier League table with a win over Brentford at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
We head into the match after seeing our advantage cut to just two points following second-placed Manchester City’s dramatic 5-4 win at Fulham on Tuesday night. Arsenal need to respond this evening with a win to reinstate a five-point gap.
Mikel Arteta has rotated his squad for the game after a huge week that saw us play Tottenham, Bayern Munich and Chelsea. David Raya keeps goal once again but Jurrien Timber is given a rest with Ben White coming in at right-back.
Cristhian Mosquera partners Piero Hincapie in the middle of Arsenal’s defence with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes both still missing. Riccardo Calafiori keeps his place at left-back so Myles Lewis-Skelly remains on the bench.
Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice are partnered in central midfield once again while Martin Odegaard comes in for Eberechi Eze in the attacking midfield role.
Bukayo Saka is given a rare rest as he’s named on the bench with Gabriel Martinelli and Noni Madueke starting on the wings for Arsenal. Mikel Merino leads the line up front with Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus among the subs.
These are the line-ups:
Arsenal
Raya, White, Mosquera, Hincapie, Calafiori , Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Madueke, Martinelli, Merino.
Subs: Arrizabalaga, Timber, Lewis-Skelly, Norgaard, Nwaneri, Eze, Saka, Jesus, Gyokeres
Brentford
