Predicted Arsenal line-up against Chelsea
Arsenal will travel to Stamford Bridge to face off against Chelsea in a crucial Premier League encounter on Sunday evening.
The Gunners will be coming into this game off the back of back-to-back victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich. So, they are currently full of confidence.
However, the Blues have also been in excellent form in recent weeks, thrashing Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League midweek.
Arsenal are currently six points ahead of Chelsea at the top of the league, and victory in this fixture will be a huge boost for their title charge.
Team news
After remaining sidelined over the last few weeks, Martin Odegaard returned in midweek. Unfortunately, Leandro Trossard picked up an issue and is in doubt for this fixture.
Gabriel Jesus is edging closer to full fitness, but this game will come too early for him to feature, while Gabriel Magalhaes isn’t in contention to be involved this weekend due to his injury.
Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz are also close to returning, and there is a possibility that they might be ready to be named in the matchday squad for this important fixture.
Predicted line-up
David Raya is expected to be between the sticks, while William Saliba would continue in the centre-back position. Piero Hincapié started against Tottenham last weekend, but Cristhian Mosquera got the nod in midweek.
The Ecuadorian could likely be paired up with the Frenchman at the heart of defence, while Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori should continue as the fullbacks. So, Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly would have to make do with a place on the bench.
There are unlikely to be any changes in the engine room, meaning Martin Zubimendi, Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze would start for the North London club. Odegaard might feature off the bench if needed, while Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri would have to make do with a place on the bench.
If Trossard can’t commence, Noni Madueke might be on the left flank against his former club, and Bukayo Saka is set to be on the opposite side. Mikel Merino could continue leading the line for the visitors.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Chelsea
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Hincapié, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Eze; Saka, Merino, Madueke
