Arsenal sources confirm interest in Antoine Semenyo

By on November 25, 2025

Arsenal sources have confirmed the club are keeping tabs on Antoine Semenyo and are aware of his situation heading into the January window, according to journalist Graeme Bailey from Arsenal Insider.

The Ghana winger has been linked with the club for some time, especially after he spoke about his support for Arsenal earlier in the year.

His strong start to the season has only increased interest, as he has produced six goals and three assists across all competitions.

Arsenal’s stance on the winger

Reports earlier this month revealed that David Ornstein confirmed a £65 million release clause becomes active in January. Many believed this clause could place Semenyo on the radar of several top clubs.

Bailey has now suggested that Arsenal sources have confirmed the club are aware of Semenyo’s situation and they are keeping a close eye on things ahead of the winter.

Bailey explained this by saying: “Arsenal sources do not dismiss themselves out of hand, he is one they are keeping tabs on and are aware of his situation.”

The journalist also addressed the question of whether the club would consider meeting his clause. Bailey said it’s ‘unlikely’ Arsenal will spend another £65m in January but Semenyo remains an ‘option’ due to his ability to play on the left flank.

When asked about the possibility of paying the £65 million required in January, he said:

They know it will take that in January – but no, unlikely – although he can play left, so he is an option.”

Squad depth could shape the final decision

Arsenal already have several players who can operate on the left side of attack. This depth may be a key factor in the club’s hesitation to push forward with a mid-season bid.

The team believes they have enough options in that area, which could make a large January spend unnecessary.

The Gunners are likely to keep watching Semenyo’s development as the season goes on. They may still consider a future approach if the squad needs change in the coming months.

Semenyo remains a player they admire due to his energy and his sharp improvement this season.

Arsenal appreciate his ability to stretch defences and his growing record in front of goal.

For now, though, all signs point towards the club stepping away from the race in January.
