Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jean Matteo Bahoya on Arsenal’s radar

By on November 20, 2025

Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Jean Matteo Bahoya’s situation at Eintracht Frankfurt, according to SPORT1.

The North Londoners continue to look for fresh options in midfield as they plan ahead for future windows.

Bahoya has now emerged as one of the players they admire and a formal swoop could be in the pipeline for 2026.

Limited minutes and rising frustration

The 20-year-old has made 15 appearances in all competitions this season. His minutes have been restricted, and this has led to growing frustration with his role under Dino Toppmöller.

He has not completed a full match at any point this season. He has also gone without a goal or an assist since August, which has added to his growing worry about his place in the side.

Bahoya enjoyed a bright start to the campaign. He struck twice in the opening match against Werder Bremen and later supplied an assist in the game against Hoffenheim.

He also scored in the DFB-Pokal against FV Engers 07 in August. That early run showed his ability, but his influence has faded due to limited playing time.

Arsenal interest and Frankfurt’s strong stance

The French youth international can play as a winger or as a central midfielder. His ability to cover different roles makes him an attractive option for many clubs.

Arsenal see him as a young talent with room to develop further. His situation at Frankfurt has not stopped interest from outside, and the Gunners are among the teams showing the strongest signs.

Eintracht Frankfurt signed Bahoya from Angers SCO in January 2024. He is tied to the club until 2029, which gives Frankfurt total control over any future sale.

SPORT1 report that Markus Krösche, the club’s sporting director, has placed a price of at least £70 million on the player.

Frankfurt have no need to sell, and his contract puts them in a strong position for any talks. Bahoya’s lack of minutes is creating tension, but Frankfurt remain clear about his value.

Arsenal would need to pay a very large fee to change the situation. For now, the midfielder’s frustration continues to grow, and his future may become a major topic if his role does not improve.
