Arsenal are reportedly planning to make a move to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per Caught Offside.

After joining the Bianconeri back in 2022, the 20-year-old made his first team debut the following year before establishing himself as a talismanic figure this season.

The youngster showcased glimpses of his qualities last term but wasn’t as consistent as he has been thus far this season. He displayed his productivity in the Club World Cup last summer, making four goal contributions in as many games.

This season, the forward has netted three goals and registered four assists. Moreover, he has helped Turkiye reach the World Cup qualifying play-offs after finishing second in a group that also included Spain.

Now, Caught Offside claim that although Yildiz has a contract until 2029, Juventus want to hand him a fresh term with a salary hike to reflect his current status in the starting line-up.

The forward wants a wage of around €6m-a-year, but the Old Lady of Turin don’t want to match it due to their current financial strategy and wage structure. So, negotiations regarding a fresh term have stalled at the moment.

By taking advantage of this situation, Arsenal are looking to sign Yildiz as Mikel Arteta is a ‘huge admirer’ of the youngster. The Gunners are looking to add further depth in the attack after struggling with injury problems in this position thus far this season.

Yildiz to Arsenal

Even if Juventus fail to agree on a new deal with their star man, they aren’t in any rush to sell him for cheap and have slapped a whopping £88m price tag on his head to keep the vultures away.

The report claim that Juventus’ high valuation won’t be the only obstacle for Arsenal to seal the deal, as Chelsea and Real Madrid are also keen on him, having been impressed by his recent eye-catching performances.

Yildiz is comfortable playing on the left flank but is also efficient in the creative midfield position. He, standing at 6ft 2in tall, is quick, technically sound, can create opportunities for fellow attackers, and also has an eye for scoring goals from distance.

The Turkish international would be a great coup for Arsenal should they eventually manage to secure his service in January or next summer.
