Arsenal open talks to sign Man Utd target Karim Adeyemi

By on November 15, 2025

Arsenal have reportedly made ‘contact’ to sign Manchester United target and Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi, as per TEAMtalk.

After being impressed by the 23-year-old’s performances for Red Bull Salzburg, BVB decided to purchase him back in 2022. He has been a key player in the German side’s starting XI over the years, scoring 12 goals and registering seven assists across all competitions last term.

The forward has also been in fine form thus far this season, making six goal contributions in all tournaments. Moreover, he has been guiding his side to qualify for the Champions League by finishing in the top four.

However, TEAMtalk claim that Adeyemi’s long-term future at Signal Iduna Park has become uncertain following his public fallout with manager, Nico Kovac.

Moreover, the youngster has entered the final 20 months of his current contract, and negotiations regarding a fresh term haven’t progressed at all. So, Dortmund might be forced to let him leave next year to avoid losing him for free.

Arsenal are looking to sign him by taking advantage of his current situation and have already initiated ‘contact’ with the player’s super agent, Jorge Mendes.

Adeyemi to Arsenal

Man Utd are also in this race and have held talks with the player’s representatives as well. United have a very good relationship with Mendes, which could be crucial in sealing the deal ahead of Arsenal.

But the Gunners have the financial muscle to buy Adeyemi by paying Dortmund’s £62m demand in January due to their consistent Champions League participation in recent years.

Adeyemi might even be open to moving to the Emirates Stadium over Old Trafford as Mikel Arteta uses natural wingers, while Ruben Amorim plays with a 3-4-2-1 formation without specialist wide forwards.

The report claim that Barcelona and Chelsea are also interested in the German but are planning to sign him next summer.

The Dortmund star is a left-footed, explosive winger and is comfortable on either flank. He is still young and has plenty of room to develop; therefore, he might be a great coup for the North London club should they eventually manage to secure his services.
