Arsenal predicted line-up against Sunderland
Arsenal have been in excellent form in recent weeks, winning their last eight consecutive matches across all competitions without conceding a goal.
Amid this situation, they will travel to the Stadium of Light to face off against Sunderland in the Premier League this evening, marking the final game before the November international break.
The North London club are currently six points ahead of second-placed Manchester City at the top of the table, and they will be hoping to win this game to maintain the lead.
Having gained promotion, the Black Cats have enjoyed a stellar start this season, accumulating 18 points from 10 games and sitting in the top four.
Team news
The Gunners have struggled with numerous injury problems during the first few months of this season. Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke, and Martin Odegaard have been out injured and should remain sidelined today.
Gabriel Martinelli and Viktor Gyokeres also sustained injury problems recently and aren’t in contention to be involved this weekend.
On the other hand, Martin Zubimendi picked up a muscular issue vs Burnley last weekend and was suspended for the midweek Champions League encounter. However, he was involved in training ahead of this game, so he should be ready to start in this game.
Predicted line-up
Arteta is likely to make a few changes to his starting line-up from midweek’s victory over Slavia Prague, but David Raya is set to continue between the sticks.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are likely to keep hold of their place in the centre-back position, while Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber might be the two fullbacks for the visitors. So, Ben White, Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapié, and Myles Lewis-Skelly would have to make do with a place on the bench.
Zubimendi should commence in the deep-lying playmaker position, and Declan Rice is likely to be alongside the Spaniard with Eberechi Eze in the creative midfield role. In that case, Christian Norgaard and Ethan Nwaneri would be among the substitutes after starting in midweek.
Leandro Trossard might continue on the left flank, and Bukayo Saka would be on the opposite side. Mikel Merino should lead the line for the North London club amid Gyokeres’ absence.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Sunderland
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Eze; Saka, Merino, Trossard
