Arsenal ‘keen’ on signing Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga
Arsenal are reportedly ‘keen’ on signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, as per a recent Spanish report.
After letting Thomas Partey and Jorginho leave for free this summer, the Gunners decided to revamp the midfield department by signing Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard.
The Spaniard has enjoyed a bright start to this season, helping Mikel Arteta’s side mount a Premier League title charge. The North London club are currently at the top of the league with 22 points from nine games, sitting four points ahead of second-placed AFC Bournemouth.
Moreover, Arsenal have won three consecutive matches in the Champions League, so they are on course to challenge on all fronts this campaign. However, it appears Arteta isn’t happy with his current squad and is looking to further strengthen next year.
As per a recent Spanish report (via TEAMtalk), Arsenal want to sign a new midfielder and are ‘keen’ on purchasing Camavinga from Real Madrid.
The North London club aren’t the only club interested in the France international as Liverpool, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are also plotting a swoop.
Camavinga to Arsenal
Since moving to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu from Stade Rennais back in 2021, the 22-year-old has enjoyed great success, winning two La Liga titles, as many Champions League trophies, and several major cup competitions.
However, he has struggled with fitness problems in recent months; as a result, he didn’t play during the first few weeks of this season.
Now, he has recovered and displayed an excellent performance against Barcelona on Sunday. So, Xabi Alonso doesn’t want to part ways with him, and Arsenal will have to make a lucrative proposal to persuade Los Blancos to cash-in on him should they make a concrete approach.
The 22-year-old is valued at around £43m by Transfermarkt and still has four years left in his current contract. So, the Spanish giants aren’t in any rush to sell him next year.
Apart from Zubimendi and Norgaard, Arsenal also have Declan Rice, Mikel Merino, Martin Odegaard, Eberechi Eze, and Ethan Nwaneri for the midfield department. So, the Emirates club don’t have to spend big to sign a new midfielder next year.
