After thrashing Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, Arsenal will face off against Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently at the top of the league with 19 points from eight games, sitting three points above second-placed Manchester City.

The Gunners have a promising record vs the Eagles in recent years, winning six consecutive matches in all competitions before drawing in this fixture last campaign.

On the other hand, the South London club enjoyed a bright start to this season, but they will be coming into this game after failing to win the last three games in all competitions.

Team news

Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, and Noni Madueke aren’t in contention to feature this weekend due to their injury problems. On the other hand, Gabriel Magalhaes picked up a knock vs Los Rojiblancos and is in doubt for this fixture.

Predicted line-up

Arteta is unlikely to make many changes to his starting line-up that defeated the Spanish giant on Tuesday. So, David Raya is set to be between the sticks, and Kepa Arrizabalaga would be among the substitutes.

Despite Gabriel’s issue, he should be ready to be involved in this crucial game and may start in the centre-back position alongside William Saliba.

Jurrien Timber is expected to keep hold of his place in the right-back position for the Gunners, and Riccardo Calafiori could get the nod to commence on the opposite side ahead of Myles Lewis-Skelly. Meaning, Cristhian Mosquera, Ben White, and Piero Hincapié would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi should start in the engine room, with Eberechi Eze likely to be in the No.10 role. So, Christian Norgaard, Mikel Merino, and Ethan Nwaneri should be involved as substitutes.

Bukayo Saka is set to keep hold of his place on the right flank, and Leandro Trossard might be on the opposite side. Viktor Gyokeres could be leading the line for the North London club after scoring a brace against Atletico Madrid. Therefore, Gabriel Martinelli would return to the bench despite putting his name on the scoresheet in midweek.
