Arsenal extended their strong run in the Champions League with a commanding 4-0 win over Atlético Madrid at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

The match remained tight in the first half, but Mikel Arteta’s side took control after the break.

Gabriel Magalhães opened the scoring with a powerful header before playing a key part at the other end by blocking a goal-bound effort.

Gabriel Martinelli then added a second after a fine run from Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Viktor Gyökeres ended his goal drought with two well-taken finishes to seal the victory as Arsenal blew Atletico away with four goals in 20 minutes.

The result keeps Arsenal’s impressive European campaign on track, with the team showing balance and confidence in both attack and defence.

Had a few nervous moments. He rushed off his line and lost the ball, almost allowing Atlético to score. Fortunate that Alvarez’s long-range effort struck the bar.

Solid in defence and eager to push forward. His positioning and awareness were key in keeping Atlético pinned back.

William Saliba (7/10):

Dealt with Sorloth comfortably. Calm and composed throughout, rarely put under pressure by the opposing striker.

Gabriel Magalhães (9/10):

Outstanding on both ends. Headed home the opener and made a vital block seconds later. Later assisted Gyökeres’ second goal in an all-round top display.

Myles Lewis-Skelly (8/10):

Energetic and fearless on the flank. His driving run created Martinelli’s goal. Another mature showing that strengthens his case for regular starts.

Martin Zubimendi (8/10):

Delivered a lovely cross in the build-up to Martinelli’s goal. Picked up a yellow card that rules him out of the next match. Controlled play well and linked smartly with Gyökeres.

Declan Rice (8/10):

Dominated the midfield. Provided the free-kick assist for Gabriel’s header and kept Arsenal moving with sharp passing.

Bukayo Saka (8/10):

A lively presence on the right, particularly in the first half. Constantly troubled Atlético’s defence and created good openings for teammates.

Viktor Gyökeres (9/10):

Struggled for service in the first half but improved after the break. Scored twice with poacher-like finishes and worked tirelessly all game.
